Woodlands is a small, peaceful community of owner occupied holiday homes, with no camping or touring on site, so you are always among the same friends and neighbours. New for 2008 is our Owners Lounge which opens on occasional evenings to host a party night or games night. At Woodlands Caravan Park you can own your own Holiday Home and enjoy holidays and short breaks whenever you wish for 50 weeks of the year. You can also hire one of our 1-bedroom cottage apartments for rental, which are situated in a sunny garden with an outdoor Hot Tub. A David Bellamy Conservation Award winning park, all our caravans are set in pleasantly screened, landscaped gardens. Mature protected woods surround the Park and there are many pleasant walks in the area. We are proud of our commitment to the environment, and as well as participating in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards, we also have an innovative waste recycling programme which reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill to less than one tenth and our Carbon Neutral commitment funds tree-planting projects to offset the carbon emissions of the electricity and gas consumed on site, together with the fuel used in our vehicles and grass cutting machinery. Woodlands Caravan Park is conveniently located in West Lancashire's "Green Belt", which is an oasis of peace and quiet but just 20 minutes from the M6 motorway for easy travelling to and from your holiday hideaway. Locally we have village shops and pubs within a pleasant short stroll from the Park, and leisure facilities in the local area include Fishing, Golf (9-hole course & driving range), a Bowling Club, the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, and much more. Just ten minutes drive from the Park is the Victorian resort town of Southport where you can enjoy Theatres & Cinemas, shop on Lord Street, dine out at an immense range of Restaurants, including some of the best in the north-west, and stroll on what is now the longest Pier in the UK, recently fully restored and rebuilt. Southport hosts a wide range of events such as the world famous Southport Flower Show, an annual Jazz Festival, two annual Air Shows, 24 hour yacht races, the UK Musical Fireworks Competition, and many more events. Holiday Home Owners at Woodlands have exclusive access to our private Health Suite (new in 2002) with Sauna, Jacuzzi and Exercise Room. New for 2006 is an enlarged laundrette. New for 2007 is a conservatory library / lounge and an enlarged shop. New for 2008 is the Owners' Lounge which has a small, quiet, private bar, open on occasional evenings and hosting weekly quiz nights or race nights together with a monthly party night. At Rufford turn left by the Hesketh Arms pub onto the B5246 (signposted “Southport, A565”). Woodlands Caravan Park is on the left in approximately 4 miles, shortly after the speed camera. (Also beware the hidden speed camera on long downhill stretch a couple of miles after leaving the motorway) From Preston (30 min) Take the A59 towards Liverpool. At Tarleton (traffic lights) continue straight ahead on to the A565 towards Southport. At the roundabout turn left onto the B5246 towards Holmeswood. Woodlands Caravan Park is on the right in approximately 1 mile. From Southport (15 min) Take the A565 towards Preston. At the third roundabout turn right onto the B5246 towards Holmeswood. Woodlands Caravan Park is on the right in approximately 1 mile From the M61 & M65 Motorways (30 min) Leave the M61 at Junction 9 to join the M65. Leave the M65 at Junction 1a “Preston South” exit. At the roundabout turn left onto the A582. Continue on the A582, over several roundabouts. At the traffic lights turn left onto Chain House Lane. Continue to the end, passing the Farmers Arms pub, then at the roundabout turn left onto the A59. At Tarleton (traffic lights) continue straight ahead on to the A565 towards Southport. At the roundabout turn left onto the B5246 towards Holmeswood. Woodlands Caravan Park is on the right in approximately 1 mile. From the M62 Motorway (45 min) Leave the M62 at junction 6 and take the M57. Then follow the directions from the M57 below. From the M57 Motorway (30 min) Leave the M57 at Junction 7 (Switch Island). Take the A59 towards Preston. At Rufford turn left by the Hesketh Arms pub onto the B5246 (signposted “Southport, A565”). Woodlands Caravan Park is on the left in approximately 4 miles, shortly after the speed camera.
