Getting Started – THAT FIRST ADVERT
This document will help you get started creating and publishing adverts on our website. We recommend that you print this page for easy reference as you follow the steps.
STEP 1 – Register as a member.
On the home page at the top of the left hand column you’ll find your user login panel.
Before you can login for the first time you have to click on the registration link were you’ll then be prompted to enter your name, email address (please double check that you have entered your email address correctly) and to create a password.
Once you’ve entered the details requested click on the orange “send registration” button. You will then be automatically sent a conformation email to your entered email address, this can sometimes end up in you “spam” or “junk mail” folder so please check those places if it fails to appear in your inbox.
Open your confirmation email and click the link to activate your account.
You are then free to login for the first time by entering your username and password and clicking on the orange “Login” button.
STEP 2 – Create your profile When you login for the first time you will be directed to your “Profile” page where you’ll be asked to fill in your profile details on yourself/business.
Some of the fields which are indicated with the
*NB – please enter your postcode with a space in the middle: i.e. TQ3 3BA and not TQ33BA or tq33ba. (Failure to enter your postcode correctly will cause our Google maps not to display the correct map for your location)
You’ll also see that you’ll be able to upload a company logo and image if you choose to, as well as adding an introduction to yourself or business.
In the final entry field entitled: Describe your Park/Business, you then have the opportunity to add more information regarding your business and details of where your caravan is sited. (Please note that your property details must not be entered here, these will go in the advert) You may also like to include opening times or directions (you may wish to think about including facilities available to customer: i.e. season length, finance facilities or part exchange possibilities).
To save these details scroll down to the orange “save/update profile” button. You will then be directed to your user login homepage.
You have now saved your profile. You can edit you profile details at any time by clicking on the EDIT PROFILE icon labelled: ”My Profile” on your login home page.
Your login page can be located by clicking on the “Create An Advert” link, this will take you to the page where you can update/alter your profile/contact details.
You can update/edit your details as often as you want. Please remember to save any changes by clicking on the orange “Save/Update Profile” button at the bottom of the page.
STEP 3 – Create an advert From your login home page click on the orange “Add new listing” button Work your way down this page entering the details of the property you’re advertising.
Please remember the more details you provide the more attractive your advert will be to prospective customers.
(Don’t worry about the Decimal Latitude: and Decimal Longitude: this information will be automatically generated from the street name and postcode that you’ve entered)
*NB – on this page, please enter the street name & postcode of where your property is located (this may be different from your profiles address) i.e. in the case of sited static caravan or lodges, input the Parks street name and postcode.
The format for your postcode should be: TQ3 3BA and not TQ33BA. (Failure to enter your postcode correctly will cause our Google maps not to display the correct map for your location)
Towards the bottom of the page you’ll reach the “Property Description and Photos” section.
In the, “Short Catchy Sales Phrase” field, if you are selling remember to add the make and model of your home, if you are sub-letting include the park where it is sited. This is important it will direct more traffic to your advert via internet search result. Don’t worry about the “Metatags” section if you’re not confident. One of the team will get around to filling those details in for you, simply leave it blank.
Be creative, make your property look as attractive as possible by including many details of not just your home, but also details of the park facilities (if applicable) or services such as available finance or part exchange possibilities that you may be able to offer if you are a trade service.
Check some of our already listed homes for inspiration. If you are a private seller/sub-letter why not have a look at your parks official website and copy/paste some of the parks listed facilities. In the “upload images” section you have the facility to add up to 6 photographs of your home and park. Please make sure that any image that you are attempting to upload is of a JPEG format and that they are no larger then 500x400 pixels.
You can use a photo editing software to resize your images – or simply email them to us together with your username and make and model details and we’ll resize them and add them for you – we can normally upload your photos within 24 hours.
*NB – please upload quality images, nobody is going to buy your £40k caravan when they can’t see it properly
HAVEN’T GOT A PHOTO?? It’s been proven over time that adverts with photos generate far more interest then those without. Take a photo with your/a friends, phone camera and text your photo/s to: 07841 568 428 And we’ll add it for you free of charge. How’s that for service?
Once you’ve completed filling in all your property details click on the orange “Submit Listing” button and your advert is finished.
We recommend that you then view your finished advert, making sure you’re happy with the way it looks and check it for spelllling errors (that’s a joke!). If you need to change/alter any details go to STEP 4 to edit your advert.
*NB – after clicking on the submit button and an error screen appears like the one below:
It is because the photos that you are attempting to upload are either too large or not JPEGs. This can cause frustration as you’ll have to start creating the advert again from scratch. If you are unsure we’d like to recommend that you submit the advert prior to attempting to upload any images and once successfully saved move on to STEP 4 and upload from your edit page.
STEP 4 – Edit an Advert You can edit your advert details at any time.
Simply scroll down to the desired advert and under the “Action” column on the right click on the edit icon this will take you to the editable listing page for that selected advert where you can change and alter your homes details at will.
*NB - Again, please ensure that you always click on the orange “Submit Listing” button at the bottom of the page to make sure that your details are updated.
Need to change/delete an image? Follow the procedure above and go to the desired advert. Scroll down to the “Upload Images” section, click the tick box labelled, “delete image” and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and submit the change by clicking on the orange “Submit Listing” button. Then return to the same advert following the procedure again, and when you scroll down to the image section this time you’ll see that the deleted image has gone and you’re free to upload an alternative one.
